[Canada to Invest Nearly 35 Billion CAD to Strengthen Northern Defense]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on March 13, it was learned on the 12th local time that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that the federal government will invest nearly 35 billion CAD to prepare for broader military operations in northern Canada. This is aimed at countering potential threats facing North America and safeguarding territorial sovereignty in the Arctic region. Most of the 32 billion CAD will be used to upgrade forward operating locations in Yellowknife, Inuvik, and Iqaluit, as well as the deployed operations base at 5 Wing Goose Bay. These facilities provide hangars, fuel, and accommodations to support fighter squadrons serving the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). (CCTV News)
