[Uniswap 'Scam Token' Class Action Lawsuit Completely Dismissed by Court]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, a U.S. federal judge ruled on Monday to dismiss the remaining state law claims against Uniswap Labs and its founder Hayden Adams, with no option to refile, marking the formal conclusion of this nearly three-year-long class action lawsuit.
The plaintiffs accused Uniswap of providing a trading platform for 'scam tokens' issued by third parties, constituting aiding and abetting fraud. However, Judge Katherine Polk Failla stated that holding smart contract code developers accountable for third-party misuse 'defies basic logic,' and the plaintiffs failed to prove that Uniswap had actual knowledge of the fraud. Previously, the federal securities law claims in this case were dismissed in 2023, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the decision. Following the announcement of the ruling, the UNI token rose 6% to $3.92.
