[AMF: France's Crypto Service 'Transition Period' to End on July 1, 2026, Unlicensed Entities Must Cease Operations] According to a report by Jinse Finance, the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) has issued a reminder that, under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), digital asset service providers (DASPs) operating in France must obtain authorization as Crypto-Asset Service Providers (CASPs) under MiCA by no later than July 1, 2026. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to continue providing crypto-asset services. The AMF urges institutions that have not yet submitted applications to promptly submit high-quality and complete authorization materials. Institutions that do not intend to continue operations must prepare and implement an orderly exit plan in advance. From the deadline onward, entities conducting business without authorization may face up to two years of imprisonment and a fine of €30,000. The AMF may also publish a blacklist and take enforcement actions such as blocking websites.
