The efficiency boost brought by AI far surpasses that of railroads (we're talking exponential levels here).
Railroads solved the problem of transport capacity. To use a not-so-perfect analogy, they amplified the transportation ability and speed of that era by orders of magnitude (based on horses).
AI, on the other hand, solves the problem of intelligent capacity, amplifying human intelligence by orders of magnitude—and it's still growing.
It’s like making everyone an Einstein, Edison, or Musk.
If we say:
Watt drove the Industrial Revolution,
Einstein shaped modern physics,
The Traitorous Eight in Silicon Valley ignited the semiconductor revolution,
Musk launched the era of space exploration,
And the AI Turing Award trio kickstarted the artificial intelligence revolution,
Then AI will have the geometric-level ability to massively create (or replace) such individuals.
The growth potential AI already brings is something humanity has yet to fully grasp.
The growth potential AI will bring might even be beyond human comprehension.
