We have invested KSh25 billion in affordable housing units, modern markets and student hostels in Machakos County in our commitment to uplift the living standards of residents. We have also allocated KSh3 billion in the 2025/2026 financial year to upgrade 360km of roads in the county to enhance connectivity, open new economic frontiers and boost trade. Further, we are lighting up 10,000 homes in this financial year at a cost of KSh1.4 billion because we believe that electricity is no longer a preserve of a few. We also commit KSh700 million for the compensation of residents affected by the Miwongoni Dam project, enabling this critical initiative to move forward and help address water shortage in Machakos town. These are among the many transformative projects we are implementing to position Machakos as one of the rapidly developing counties in the country.
