[Solana Co-Founder: No Technical Engineering Barriers Exist for Building a Cross-Chain Bridge on Solana Targeting Ethereum L1] According to a report by Jinse Finance, Solana co-founder Toly stated on the X platform: 'All existing Layer 2 networks (L2) are equipped with permissioned multi-signature mechanisms, which can overturn cross-chain bridge contracts without prior notice. The "escape hatch" (referring to the emergency withdrawal mechanism for cross-chain assets in extreme situations) is not a property of Layer 2 networks but rather a property of cross-chain bridges. Currently, there are no technical engineering barriers preventing the construction of a cross-chain bridge on the Solana blockchain targeting Ethereum's Layer 1 (L1). In other words, Ethereum L1 can effectively become a "Layer 2 network" for Solana, while providing complete withdrawal guarantees for cross-chain assets. Achieving this does not require any modifications to Ethereum, and as the implementation difficulty of Ethereum L1 zero-knowledge proof (Zk proving) technology decreases, the difficulty of building such a cross-chain bridge will also decrease.'
