AI startup Periodic Labs raises $200 million in funding, led by a16z

According to Golden Finance, Periodic Labs, founded by former OpenAI research vice president Liam Fedus and former DeepMind research scientist Ekin Dogus Cubuk, has raised $200 million in funding, with a post investment valuation of $1 billion.
The company focuses on utilizing artificial intelligence technology for research and discovery of new materials. This round of financing is led by Andreessen Horowitz and OpenAI is expected to participate as well.
