Yesterday afternoon, I had a productive and wide-ranging discussion with Frank James, Group CEO of GraceKennedy, one of Jamaica’s most iconic and globally respected companies.
Our conversation covered a range of national priorities, including Jamaica’s energy security. We also explored critical areas for trade and investment, especially the untapped potential in South-South trade, deepening commercial ties with countries across Latin America, Africa, and the wider Global South.
Jamaica is strategically positioned to be a strong player in this space, leveraging our culture, our logistics infrastructure, and our world-class talent.
We discussed the role of sports and culture not only as pillars of national identity, but as economic assets that drive global engagement. We must continue to elevate our athletes, artists, and creators as ambassadors of brand Jamaica.
I commend GraceKennedy for its continued commitment to nation-building and look forward to deeper collaboration as we pursue a Jamaica that is economically strong, and globally competitive.
