Great to meet @MohitB026, Head of Strategy at @AvailProject, during my visit to Hong Kong — We had a great chat about the current market landscape and Avail’s potential development direction. Avail, Celestia, and EigenDA are all bringing innovative solutions to the data availability (DA) space. DA is shaping up to be the next trillion-dollar infrastructure layer! Here’s my initial take: Celestia is known for its fast finality and decentralization. EigenDA leverages Ethereum’s security and DAC (Data Availability Committee) mechanism. Avail, on the other hand, offers flexibility and scalability through its hybrid consensus and modular design. The key difference with EigenDA: Avail is an independent chain, not tied to Ethereum’s ecosystem or development pace — making it less susceptible to Ethereum-specific changes. If Avail can successfully deliver cross-chain DA services with a unified interface, it could transcend the limitations of the Ethereum ecosystem and unlock much broader potential.
