@SoloFractal has publicly conducted mining power tests on computers (I9 \4090), 0.3-4T small computing power miners, and S21 \ S19 large computing power miners since August 14, using the technical experience accumulated in the Web3 field for many years, and has announced the progress of the tests daily. After 3 days of testing, we have completed the testing of three types of mining equipment that everyone may use, and now summarize the test results of the test network as follows:
1. Computer (I9 \4090)
When Fractal Bitcoin just started mining, it was generally believed that the early computing power was not high, so it should be possible to mine with a computer. We conducted a special test,
- Using CPU MINER to activate the CPU for testing, it was unsuccessful
- Using CGMINER to activate the GPU for testing, it started successfully, showing a computing power of only 10Gh / s
Conclusion: Although a computer can mine, due to the high computing power of many S19 models on the market, Fractal Bitcoin's early mining power is too high. At the same time, because the comprehensive power of the computer is in the range of 200-300W, it is relatively power-consuming. It is not recommended to use a computer for mining, even the sound of mining with a 4090 graphics card is very loud.
2. 0.3-4T Small Computing Power Miner
On July 24, a foreign 500G computing power small miner on the Bitcoin mainnet mined a block alone, monopolizing the reward of 3 BTC, which instantly ignited a global craze for solo mining. When Fractal Bitcoin just started mining, small computing power miners should also have a certain chance to mine. We tested multiple brands of small computing power miners
- 320G and 1T luckyminer, directly connected to @SoloFractal mining pool, successfully mined 2 blocks in 24 hours, receiving 50 FB rewards
- 4T Avalon3, directly connected to @SoloFractal mining pool, successfully mined 4 blocks in 24 hours, receiving 100 FB rewards
Conclusion: Small computing power miners are more suitable for mining at home, with prices ranging from $60 to $300. Because of their small size (the size of a book or a mobile phone), low power consumption (ranging from 14-140W), and low noise (30-36 decibels), they can be plugged into sockets and placed in places with good air circulation, such as the living room. At present, it is considered one of the better choices for retail investors to participate in mining.
3. S21 \ S19 Large Computing Power Miner
Directly connected to @SoloFractal mining pool, successfully mined 60% of the blocks and output in 24 hours, with obvious advantages.
Conclusion: Currently, domestic mining is not supported. In addition, large computing power miners have a power of 3000W, make a lot of noise, and generate a lot of heat, making them unsuitable for home use. They can only be hosted in overseas mining farms. The test network is basically too late, and participation can wait until the mainnet is launched.
4. Accessing the Mining Pool
@Solo Fractal and Fractal Bitcoin's Solo mining is a public mining pool address platform for Fractal Bitcoin's ecosystem set up by Solo Fractal. Currently, the mining power of the mining machines accessed through @Solo Fractal accounts for 60-70% of the total network mining power of Fractal Bitcoin, and miners are mining 25 FB block rewards every minute through @Solo Fractal's SOLO mode.
