The policy explicitly prohibits users from engaging in prolonged and sustained verbal abuse of AI models. According to the new policy, in extreme cases where users repeatedly treat the model cruelly without a clear purpose, Claude may terminate the conversation. These restrictions do not apply to general user dissatisfaction, rebuttals, creative works involving dark themes, or model testing and research. Additionally, Anthropic has banned the use of Claude for operating fake accounts, fabricating news organizations, and other large-scale deceptive activities, as well as explicitly prohibiting interference in democratic elections through voter deception.
