Among them, 1,280 were classified as critical/severe (accounting for 16.2%). A total of 25 Bitcoin developers worldwide have been working continuously, with cumulative expenses exceeding $58,000, 74% of which was spent on Kimi K3. On August 13, Calle posted a summary, stating that the team has nearly completed scanning almost all Bitcoin open-source code and has reported a significant number of real critical and severe vulnerabilities to project teams. Project maintainers have verified the team's findings. He stated: "Everything is broken, Bitcoin is burning — but Bitcoin is becoming stronger through this process." Key findings include: the Lightning Network is more complex and prone to issues than average; unmaintained projects are likely already broken; and projects will need their own AI auditing processes in the future. It’s worth noting that the team previously used OpenAI for auditing, but after a researcher’s account was banned on August 9, they switched to Kimi K3.
