[Compensation for Liquidation Losses Caused by Pricing Anomaly, Trade[XYZ] Responds to SKHYNIX Mark Price Drop]
Odaily Planet Daily News: trade.xyz posted on Platform X stating that on July 27 at 23:01 UTC, the SKHYNIX mark price dropped from $1127.9 to $917.25. This price was based on an executed trade and relayed by multiple independent data providers. The XYZ oracle was operational within external pricing and tracked the platform, which serves as a major pre-market trading venue in South Korea. The oracle system functioned according to its specifications.
trade.xyz stated that although the system operated as designed, users were dissatisfied with the liquidations triggered by this event. Trade[XYZ] has decided to compensate for liquidation losses attributed to this anomaly. Eligibility requirements will be announced soon, and distribution is expected to be completed in the coming days. This decision is a one-time discretionary action and does not guarantee similar actions in the future.
trade.xyz also mentioned that it will further improve its pricing system to handle tail events and expedite the review of price formation mechanisms. This includes reassessing assumptions related to external trading venues and considering price formation within its own order book.
