[Storage Module Manufacturer Apacer Technology: DRAM and Enterprise SSD Supply-Demand Imbalance to Persist Until at Least the First Half of Next Year] Golden Finance reports that on July 27, Zhang Jia?, CEO of Taiwan-based storage module manufacturer Apacer Technology, recently stated that as the world's three major DRAM manufacturers have almost entirely allocated their new production capacity to AI products, general market supply continues to decrease, and the supply-demand imbalance remains difficult to alleviate in the short term. He bluntly said that the world's three major DRAM manufacturers have almost entirely allocated their new production capacity to AI products such as HBM, server DDR5, and LPDDR5X, while the allocation of chips for general DDR5, DDR4, and industrial control markets continues to decline. Currently, the biggest challenge faced by module manufacturers is no longer price but insufficient supply. He noted that according to the supply plans of the manufacturers, the DRAM supply available to module manufacturers will continue to decrease in the future. Not only will prices continue to rise, but module manufacturers are also actively building inventory to avoid the risk of having no products to sell in the future. He emphasized that even if procurement costs increase, it is still necessary to stock up in advance because paying a higher price still allows for business operations, whereas not being able to secure supply means no business can be conducted. Zhang Jia? stated that the current situation is relatively clear: the trend of tight supply will remain evident until at least the first half of 2027. As for the second half of 2027 and beyond, it will still depend on the expansion plans of various manufacturers and changes in AI demand.
