[ByteDance Signs Over $7 Billion Deal with ChangXin Memory]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, citing Reuters, three sources familiar with the matter revealed that ChangXin Memory signed a five-year agreement worth over $7 billion (current exchange rate approximately 47.481 billion RMB) this month with ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of TikTok.
The report also mentioned that ChangXin Memory plans to enter the U.S. market, but its production capacity is stretched thin due to strong domestic demand. ChangXin Memory is constructing two new factories in Shanghai and Hefei, Anhui Province, which will double its production capacity to over 600,000 wafers per month. One source stated that if all goes smoothly, ChangXin Memory's production capacity could surpass Micron by 2030. According to market research firm Omdia, ChangXin Memory's global market share in DRAM sales reached 7.67% by Q4 2025, ranking fourth globally and first in China. In the Chinese market, ChangXin Memory has grown into the largest, most technologically advanced, and most comprehensive DRAM research, design, and manufacturing enterprise.
Industry analysis firm SemiAnalysis stated in June this year that ChangXin Memory's annual revenue in 2026 could exceed $50 billion (current exchange rate approximately 339.152 billion RMB), with its market share expected to rise from 9% in 2025 to 12% by 2027.
