[DeepSeek to Implement Peak-Valley Pricing, Sparking Debate: Prices Double During Peak Hours] Reported by Jinse Finance, on June 30, citing Yicai, multiple developers shared feedback on the evening of June 29 about receiving an email from DeepSeek announcing the launch of the official V4 version and adjustments to its pricing model. The email stated that the official version of DeepSeek V4 is scheduled to go live in mid-July, bringing more feature optimizations and performance improvements. Simultaneously, DeepSeek will adjust its API pricing strategy by introducing a peak-valley pricing mechanism 'to allocate resources more reasonably and enhance service stability.' On the DeepSeek open platform, the official homepage also issued a notification to users, stating that the API service is expected to adopt the peak-valley pricing strategy starting mid-July, with 'peak hour prices being twice the regular rates.' Specifically, peak hours are defined as 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00 Beijing time, which almost entirely cover the primary working hours of domestic developers and enterprise users. This means that while the official V4 version of DeepSeek does not involve an overall price increase, users who choose to call the model API during peak hours will see their costs directly double.
