I previously wrote a tweet specifically to share with the bros how Pudgy managed to survive.
Today, I want to talk about my own feelings.
I think the truly impressive thing about Pudgy is that it stopped seeing itself as just an NFT project.
The logic for many NFT projects is:
Launch NFTs → Build a community → Issue tokens → Then wait for the next bull market.
But Pudgy later took a completely different path.
It started making toys, building an IP, licensing, and entering retail.
It’s no longer just trying to attract Crypto users.
Instead, it’s targeting people who’ve never even been exposed to Web3.
I think this is especially important.
A lot of people always talk about bringing more people into Crypto.
But Pudgy flipped the script.
It first entered everyday life and then gradually introduced some people to Web3.
I’ve always believed that
NFTs are just a medium.
IP is the ultimate goal.
While others are still debating whether NFTs have a future, Pudgy has already started thinking about how to become a true consumer brand.
This is also why, to this day, I’m still holding onto my Pudgy and PENGU.
What I bought isn’t just an NFT.
I’m betting on whether a Web3 IP can truly break into the mainstream world.
In my opinion,
a true IP doesn’t need users to understand Web3 first.
