SecondFi: Approximately 16 million ADA lost across 374 addresses, affected users can submit compensation claims

Cardano wallet service provider SecondFi stated that it has identified the root cause of the recent security incident and deployed patches for unaffected wallets, with normal operations set to resume soon. SecondFi disclosed that the incident involved four occurrences of fund transfers, three of which were carried out by external attackers, resulting in approximately 16 million ADA being transferred out from 374 addresses. To minimize further losses during the ongoing attacks, SecondFi initiated an emergency transfer, moving approximately 129 million ADA to an independent third-party custodial institution for safekeeping. Additionally, an external accounting firm has been hired to conduct a special audit to facilitate subsequent verification and asset returns to affected addresses.
