[Media Reports Trump Strikes Iran Over Lack of Progress on Agreement] According to a report by Jinse Finance on June 11, citing the U.S. news website 'Axios,' the immediate trigger for the U.S. military's strike on Iran was the crash of a U.S. military helicopter. However, U.S. President Trump had already grown increasingly dissatisfied with Iran's failure to respond to U.S. proposals regarding an agreement over the past two weeks. The report stated that the U.S. believes the strike helps restore leverage in negotiations while not completely shutting the door on a diplomatic resolution. It was disclosed that after a May 29 meeting in the White House Situation Room, Trump demanded revisions to the nearly finalized U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding. Under the new requirements, Iran must dilute enriched uranium within 60 days and commit not to impose transit fees on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. In exchange, the U.S. agreed that related nuclear materials could remain in Iran for processing under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency. The report noted that, with Qatar mediating, indirect contact between the U.S. and Iran is still ongoing. U.S. officials stated that the agreement remains on the table, but if Iran continues to delay, Trump is prepared to make Iran 'pay the price.' (CCTV International News)
