The protocol allows AI agents to pay API call fees in real-time without requiring accounts, subscriptions, or any human intervention. The system leverages the long-reserved HTTP 402 status code ("Payment Required") to create a seamless payment process that can be completed in a single HTTP interaction, eliminating friction and reducing operational complexity. Injective was chosen for implementation due to its single-block settlement, deterministic finality, and approximately 650-millisecond latency, enabling agents to reliably complete payments before making their next decision.
