[ETH/BTC Ratio Has Fallen Back to 2016 Levels]
According to Finance Feeds, the ETH/BTC ratio has fallen back to 2016 levels. Recently, Ethereum traded at approximately $1,666, while Bitcoin traded at around $62,956, with the ratio close to 0.0265. This ratio is an important indicator of market preference: an increase signifies stronger demand for Ethereum, while a decrease indicates investors favor Bitcoin's liquidity and institutional acceptance.
The reasons for Ethereum's relative weakness compared to Bitcoin include: weak spot prices, declining ETF demand, competition from Layer 1 networks, reduced fee revenue after scaling upgrades, and market skepticism about whether ETH's economic model can maintain monetary premium during the migration to Layer 2. Bitcoin, on the other hand, has maintained stronger institutional demand due to spot ETF adoption, deeper liquidity, and its status as a macro crypto asset.
