Crypto circle explodes again: 107 BTC directly self immolate
Recently, a rare large-scale destruction event occurred on the Bitcoin network:
Someone divided 5 independent transactions and transferred a total of 107 BTC (worth over 8 million US dollars) to a well-known destruction address.
The address is 1111111111111111111111114oLvT2, and currently has accumulated 807.23892159 BTC worth over 61 million US dollars.
What's even more surprising is that these BTC come from a dormant old wallet from 2014-2015, which suddenly woke up and completed operations after being dormant for many years.
Why take the initiative to destroy?
The 5 transactions are independent of each other, with a total amount of exactly 107 BTC. The possibility of multiple consecutive "hand errors" in entering the wrong address is extremely low, almost ruling out operational errors.
The real reason is unknown to the outside world, and may be intentional destruction, complete forgetting of the address, commemorative behavior, or other hidden information that only the sender is aware of.
Regardless of the motive, these 107 BTC have permanently disappeared from the Bitcoin chain and can no longer be retrieved, once again confirming the cruel reality of cryptocurrency assets being forever lost.
