[Russell Index Adjustment in the U.S.: Google and AMD Removed from Russell 1000 Value Index]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on May 25, the Russell U.S. Index series undergoes an annual recalibration every June to reflect the evolving landscape of the U.S. stock market. The index provider updates the market capitalization thresholds between large-cap, mid-cap, small-cap, and micro-cap stocks. Alphabet, Google's parent company, and AMD have been removed from the Russell 1000 Value Index as two of the largest companies affected, with both being fully classified under the growth category. Among the top ten companies by market capitalization, nine retained their positions, while Walmart replaced Eli Lilly, becoming the only new entrant on the list. (Cailian Press)
