[Japan Announces Arrival of First Oil Tanker to Cross the Strait of Hormuz Since the Outbreak of War] Odaily Planet Daily News: Japan has announced that the first Persian Gulf oil tanker to cross the Strait of Hormuz since the outbreak of the Iran war is about to arrive. In a briefing document released on Friday, Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry stated that the ultra-large crude oil carrier "Idemitsu Maru," which passed through the waterway at the end of April, could dock as early as next Monday. The agency noted that the vessel, carrying 2 million barrels of Saudi crude oil, is en route to Idemitsu Kosan Co.'s Aichi Refinery as planned. The Middle East war has triggered an unprecedented energy supply shock, prompting major importers across Asia to seek alternative crude oil and natural gas shipments globally. Like other developed nations, Japan has also taken steps to tap into strategic reserves to mitigate the impact of the conflict. (Jin10)
