SIVE and JBL collaborate on 1.6T optical transceiver production update:
According to JPMorgan's Fireside Talk, the current timeline is earlier than expected.
Here is what they announced:
Suggesting that the SIVE laser architecture has a "relatively significant moat"
The extreme demand for 1.6T products was completely unknown before.
The timeline is faster than expected, significantly advancing the revenue realization window.
The specific statement is as follows:
1Jabil's 1.6T LRO: 'Will enter various qualification certifications in the next 1 to 4 months'
Qualification certification may take anywhere from 2 to 6 months
Given that it is currently May 2026 (H1), mass production and revenue realization may commence within 3 to 10 months.
Therefore, it is expected to be by the end of 2026 at the latest (approximately 6.5 months after the midpoint, around November December 2026).
Previously, the mainstream market forecast was mostly for H2 in 2027.
In terms of architecture, the power consumption is significantly reduced by about 11 kilowatts compared to the current 1.6T power configuration
Hyperscalers would be delighted to hear this, as it is precisely where competitive differentiation lies and what SIVE proves to be a 'relatively significant moat' as a key photonics bottleneck.
At this stage, it's not about market share, but about truly keeping up with the organic growth of the entire market
This once again indicates that the huge demand has far exceeded the supply capacity.
The meaning is that the key now is only how much Sivers+Jabil can produce together, because any product they produce will be bought.
This type of statement has extremely important material significance for Sivers' revenue (relative to current market value).
Previously, there was significant uncertainty in the exact demand and commercialization timeline for Sivers × Jabil in the market.
Jabil has just publicly confirmed that their demand for 1.6T LRO using SIVE lasers is essentially unlimited.
