First it was DeFi getting hacked, and now even the old-school public chains aren’t stable?!
LTC just had three hours of on-chain records rewritten
The Litecoin network had a vulnerability in its privacy feature. Developers quietly fixed it four weeks ago but didn’t force mining pools to upgrade.
Attackers noticed this, used a DoS attack to take down the upgraded pools, let the non-upgraded pools take over block production, then slipped in fake transactions to transfer coins out and swapped them for ETH, making $600K.
