[Hong Kong Media: Former Huobi Senior Manager Acquitted in Case Involving Nearly 5 Million USDT Transfer]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that Chen Bo-liang, a former senior manager at Huobi Group, was accused of using an alias to open a personal account on the platform, conducting unauthorized "dark pool trading" of cryptocurrencies with no restrictions on price or quantity. He was also alleged to have transferred approximately 4.999 million USDT (around HK$39.18 million) from the account to his accounts on OKX and Binance, facing seven charges including dishonest use of a computer and money laundering.
After deliberation, the Hong Kong High Court jury ruled on April 24 that he was not guilty of all charges. The prosecution claimed that in 2020, he used the identity "Chen Feng" to complete identity verification and used this account to conduct dark pool trading with company accounts. However, the jury ultimately did not accept the related accusations, and the court also approved the defendant's application for legal costs. (HK01)
