rsETH incident leaves a gap of approximately 68,900 ETH, 'DeFi United' rescue effort covers about 43,500 ETH so far The rsETH incident resulted in a funding gap of around 68,900 ETH, equivalent to approximately $160 million. This shortfall stems from the hacker borrowing about 99,600 ETH by collateralizing rsETH, minus the roughly 30,700 ETH recovered and frozen by Arbitrum. To address this bad debt risk, Aave has teamed up with several DeFi organizations to launch the 'DeFi United' rescue initiative. So far, donations totaling approximately 13,500 ETH have been announced, including contributions of 2,500 stETH from Lido Finance, 5,000 ETH from http://ether.fi, 5,000 ETH from Aave founder Stani Kulechov, and 1,000 ETH from the Golem Foundation. Ethena, LayerZero, INK Foundation, and Tydro have also joined the effort, though their donation amounts have not been disclosed. Additionally, Mantle plans to provide Aave with a loan of 30,000 ETH. In total, confirmed rescue funds currently amount to approximately 43,500 ETH, which is still insufficient to fully cover the gap caused by the rsETH incident.
