The SEC has finally removed the $25,000 day trading threshold, and retail traders are cheering for 'trading equality.'
The old rules, while paternalistic, objectively acted as a physical safety net, preventing small accounts from high-frequency losses.
Now it's been replaced with an intraday margin system. To put it bluntly: the threshold is gone, and as long as you're willing, leverage is unlimited.
Zero-commission brokers and Wall Street market makers are probably popping champagne already.
