According to Reuters, Pakistan has proposed a two-phase agreement to Iran.
1. Immediately implement a ceasefire. Reopen the Strait of Hormuz right away.
2. The ceasefire phase is expected to last 15 to 20 days, leading to a comprehensive peace agreement, tentatively called the Islamabad Agreement.
The final agreement may include: Iran agreeing to limit its nuclear program (no production of nuclear weapons). The U.S. lifting sanctions on Iran and unfreezing assets. The U.S. recognizing a broader security framework for the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian officials told Reuters: Tehran has received Pakistan's proposal and is reviewing it.
Iran will not accept any deadlines or pressure. Tehran will not reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for a temporary ceasefire.
However, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has already started to gradually improve.
