Whenever there's some good news in the market, ETF investors tend to jump in and buy. If the market news turns unfriendly, they start selling. But when there's neither good nor bad news—like yesterday's ETF data with only single-digit changes—investors are left unsure of who to trust, leading to a lot of back-and-forth.
For example, BlackRock's investors might not have much faith in Trump's negotiations and decided to sell directly, while Fidelity's investors might be betting on a rebound after the war ends, so they've been buying more actively. But judging by today's data, it's probably back to buying and selling as usual.
