[Key Suspect Arrested in GainBitcoin Scam Case in India] The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in India has arrested Ayush Varshney, co-founder and CTO of Darwin Labs, who was intercepted at Mumbai airport while attempting to leave the country. Darwin Labs is accused of providing technical support to the GainBitcoin scam platform, including the investor platform, Bitcoin payment gateway, and wallet system. The case involves approximately 8,000 investors, with losses amounting to around ₹660.6 billion (approximately $790 million), making it one of the largest cryptocurrency fraud cases in India. The mastermind of the case, Amit Bhardwaj, passed away in 2022 while out on bail. Previously, Indian authorities raided over 60 locations across the country to investigate the scam, with the amount involved estimated at around $75.8 million.
