IRAN WAR THREATENS GLOBAL FERTILIZER SUPPLIES The Iran conflict risks disrupting fertilizer production critical to global food, as the Middle East hosts major plants and raw material exporters. About 25–35% of these raw materials pass through the Strait of Hormuz, now effectively closed. Iran, the fourth-largest urea exporter, and Saudi Arabia face supply hits, pushing Egyptian urea prices up 33%. Sulphur prices have also surged, with nearly half of global exports from the region.
