[Suspected Insider Trading: Six Accounts Bet on U.S. Striking Iran on Prediction Platform, Profiting $1 Million]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, analysis company BubblemapsSA revealed that six accounts on the prediction platform Polymarket earned approximately $1 million in profits by betting on the U.S. striking Iran before February 28. These accounts were all newly created in February and only placed bets on the timing of a potential U.S. strike. Some of the shares in these accounts were purchased just hours before the first explosion in Tehran was reported, with some shares bought at a price of around 10 cents each. This betting pattern has raised suspicions of insider trading. Blockchain analysts pointed out that similar patterns have also appeared in other suspected insider trading cases in prediction markets, such as when an insider made significant profits in January by betting on the ousting of Venezuelan President Maduro.
