[Japan Financial Services Agency Supports Crypto Anti-Money Laundering Experiment, 13 Companies Participate] On February 27, the Japan Financial Services Agency announced its support for a proof-of-concept experiment on anti-money laundering measures for crypto assets. The experiment was proposed by Hitachi Ltd., with participating companies including GMO Coin, Chainalysis Japan, NEC, JPYC, Bitbank, and a total of 13 firms. The experiment is scheduled to take place from March to May 2026 and aims to verify the effectiveness of sharing suspicious wallet address information among multiple cryptocurrency exchanges and stablecoin operators, in order to build a more efficient industry-wide anti-money laundering system.
