[Ethereum Foundation Launches Project Odin to Promote Diversification of Public Goods Funding]
BlockBeats News, February 27, the Ethereum Foundation's funding coordination team announced the launch of the Project Odin initiative. This is a one-year structured support program aimed at helping core public goods teams establish sustainable funding pathways, enhancing ecosystem resilience, and reducing long-term reliance on a single funding source. The smart contract language Vyper has been selected as the first pilot project to join the initiative.
Project Odin will assist projects in transitioning from grant dependency to a diversified funding portfolio (such as service contracts, SLAs, training, etc.) by equipping each team with strategic advisors and guiding them through three phases: research, validation, and execution.
The long-term goal of the initiative is to promote the development of the FRCs model, which combines grants and contracts to fund advanced technical research, addressing engineering challenges within the ecosystem while maintaining the independence of long-term research.
