[Report: Foundry USA's Hashrate Drops 60% Due to Winter Storm Impact] According to Golden Finance, Foundry USA, the world's largest Bitcoin mining pool and digital asset advisory company, has reduced its hashrate by approximately 60% since last Friday due to severe winter storms sweeping across large areas of the United States. TheMinerMag reported: 'Under ongoing power restrictions, Foundry USA's Bitcoin hashrate has dropped nearly 200 EH/s (exahashes per second) since Friday, a decrease of about 60%. The temporary block time for Bitcoin has slowed to 12 minutes.' According to Hashrate Index data, Foundry USA currently still holds approximately 198 EH/s of hashrate, accounting for about 23% of the total global mining pool hashrate. Bitcoin network hashrate refers to the total computational power contributed by miners to ensure the security of the Proof-of-Work (PoW) mechanism. The power restriction measures have also affected other mining pools serving U.S. users, including Luxor. As winter storm Fern sweeps across the United States, many miners have been forced to adjust their energy usage to alleviate pressure on the power grid infrastructure.
