While I agree with the outcome, I think the phrase “Abolish ICE” risks becoming another “Defund the Police” moment. Gut the org, and replace it. Slash the mandate, repeal Title 8, Section 1357 and make immigration officers ONLY able to go after someone when they have a court order to bring them before an immigration judge. Give them only non-lethal weapons and require they work with local PD if they need actual weapons support. Put every one on trial for past actions that were a breech of duty. Make every arrest they do subject to automatic judicial oversight in the process. But don’t hand them the boogeyman of “abolish ICE” Because while I get what we mean, and agree with it, we all KNOW they will spin that to mean “they want no accountability for illegals” and will use that to rally their base in the midterms. Whatever political consultants are pushing this messaging do a huge jeopardy to us in elections.(Adam Cochran (adamscochran.eth))
