[CyrusOne Data Center Human Error Causes CME Market Outage for Over 10 Hours]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, CyrusOne has confirmed that its data center in Aurora, Illinois, experienced a market outage of over 10 hours for CME Group due to human error.
On-site staff and contractors failed to follow standard procedures to drain the cooling towers before the arrival of cold weather, ultimately leading to an overload of the cooling system and a rise in temperature. CyrusOne, jointly owned by KKR & Co. and Global Infrastructure Partners, has sparked concerns about the reliability of financial market infrastructure following this incident.
Earlier reports indicated that on November 28, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME Group) suspended commodity futures trading.
