Been following @CoinDesk for a while, but never thought I’d get invited to join CELO’s founder @RegenRene on a Coindesk livestream to chat about KOLs. Guess I’ve officially repped Chinese KOLs and flexed a bit Last night, I had a great convo with Rene about the differences between Chinese and international KOLs, how the upstream industry views KOLs, and some common misconceptions. Turns out there’s quite a big gap. KOLs aren’t just mindless shillers grabbing ad money and hyping projects. Many KOLs actually do a ton of research, data analysis, and due diligence to help their followers identify solid projects versus trash ones. As the industry evolves, the influence and voice of KOLs are steadily rising. You can see this from Binance’s BBW event lineup—it’s a glimpse into the bigger picture. Maybe the whole industry is going through a reshuffle and rebuilding trust, but for KOLs and independent media, this might just be the best time ever. A lot of new faces from Binance Square were invited to Dubai this time. Some of them I don’t even recognize, but it shows how much opportunity a new traffic channel can bring to fresh talent. This is the golden age of personal branding. Keep grinding, folks—put out thoughtful, valuable content, and sooner or later, you’ll get noticed.
