"Virtually no one is safe from a large depreciation." ⚠️ A new IMF dataset on currency crises since 1971 by Alexander Culiuc and Hyunmin Park shows: -905 large depreciation events since 1971 -131 in the last decade alone Fiat currencies are inherently unstable as the measuring stick keeps changing and is being manipulated. Whether developing, emerging, or advanced economy, all face this risk. This has, for a long time, been accepted as a reality and part of life. But since 2009 there is an alternative to the Post-Bretton Woods monetary order. The alternative?
