everything comes down to tradeoffs if it were simply about delaying, that would be one thing. but the unknown complexity of interactions between FOCIL (which was originally proposed as a solo CL headliner bc of its non-trivial complexity) and ePBS, given they both touch the same consensus code, should be enough to disqualify it. we should strive for consistency and scope discipline > Also post-Fusaka, L2 fees will be near zero > L1 scaling isn’t the urgent need we thought it was a year ago. both of these are narrow sighted frames. 1. we still need to increase L1 gas limits 2. ePBS optimizes protocol deadlines/bandwidth constraints which can then be allocated to greater blob scaling without kicking bandwidth sensitive validators. we must aggressively push here because we cannot prove the counterfactual of L2s who choose to never settle via DA bc the capacity isn't there and doesn't look like it's materializing in 3-6 months. more and larger L2s means we get to saturation earlier, meaning fees aren't 0(trent.eth)
