Thailand and FBI join forces to recover $432000 in cryptocurrency assets, Eastern European hackers arrested in Phuket According to Decrypt, Thai cyber police recovered and returned approximately 432000 USDT and some BTC in "Operation 293" in collaboration with the FBI. The suspect involved is an Eastern European hacker hiding in Phuket. The police claimed that they stole the victim's authentication key and mnemonic words through malicious software, converted the funds into USDT and BTC, and dispersed them into multiple wallets. Investigating and collaborating with Tether to freeze USDT, and tracking contracts with Bangkok exchange Bitkub, ultimately transferring 432000 USDT to CCIB custodial wallet and returning it to two victims; Six victims have been confirmed, with a cumulative loss of approximately 3.2 million Thai baht. The suspect is associated with multiple recent cryptocurrency fraud cases that have been arrested in Thailand.
