The first pull and I broke even!!! My mood is through the roof!
As someone who’s been FOMO-ing into all kinds of card games for a long time, I just can’t resist blind box-style games/products. From Pop Mart to sports cards, every wave has “harvested” me with precision.
A couple of days ago, I saw @xingxingjun8888 trying out @renaissxyz’s card pulls and hitting an SSS on their second try. I couldn’t hold back and asked @leslie_bit for a spot in the beta test.
The beta test card packs were Pokémon-themed. I recharged about 200U in total, and the cards I can sell now are worth roughly 400U.
The beta gameplay is pretty simple: each pull costs 60U. The cards you pull are categorized into TOP/S/A/B/C/D. The rarer the card, the higher its value. If you pull something you don’t want, you can recycle it for 90% of its value. If you like it, you can mint it directly.
The “randomness” of traditional card pulls has always been a black box.
You never know if the company is manipulating things behind the scenes, if the probabilities for rare cards are real, or if certain players are getting special treatment.
@renaissxyz pre-generates every card using cryptographic algorithms, with its rarity and attributes determined and recorded on-chain before the pack is opened.
The Merkle tree structure ensures that the contents of each pack have mathematical proof, so everyone can verify the authenticity of the pull results.
The ZK proof system guarantees the fairness of the random generation process without revealing specific details.
Traditional method: centralized server → black-box algorithm → unverifiable results
Current method: on-chain randomness → open algorithm → verifiable proof → transparent results
From relative fairness to absolute fairness, I’m looking forward to seeing how the public beta performs.
