Wellgistics, a medical listed company, is launching a blockchain payment system based on Ripple According to Cointelegraph, healthcare technology listed company Wellgistics Health is collaborating with pharmaceutical software company RxERP to develop a new blockchain system that enables pharmacies to pay product fees and transfer funds, while recording all payments on Ripple's XRP ledger and providing an alternative to traditional bank transfers for bulk drug procurement. Wellgistics Health has approximately 6500 pharmacies in the United States. Wellgistics states that the system complies with healthcare and financial regulations, including privacy requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and anti money laundering (AML) regulations.
