[Coins.ph: Claims Philippine Central Bank License Remains Valid, Denies Knowledge of Serving Offshore Gambling Operators] Odaily Planet Daily News – Coins.ph stated that its license from the Philippine Central Bank (BSP) remains valid and denied knowingly serving offshore gambling or betting operators. The company assured that user funds are secure and that the platform will continue to operate as a BSP-licensed entity. The company did not directly clarify whether related entities had ever used its platform. Previously, BSP required Coins.ph to strengthen internal controls and imposed restrictions on InstaPay and PESONet transfers involving its operating entity, DCPay Philippines. Coins.ph mentioned that cash deposits and QRPh collections are temporarily unavailable, but cryptocurrency trading, withdrawals, bill payments, and merchant QRPh payments remain operational. DCPay holds an electronic money issuer license, while Betur Inc. operates Coins.ph's cryptocurrency asset services under a separate virtual asset service provider license. The reported restrictions are said to target DCPay's payment operations, not Betur's cryptocurrency asset services. (Cointelegraph)
