[OneKey Founder: iPhone Can Be Used as a Cold Wallet, But Only Recommend iPhone 17 or Later Models] Odaily Planet Daily News – OneKey founder Yishi posted on platform X about 'How to Turn an iPhone into a Cold Wallet.' Yishi stated: 'It is recommended to use an iPhone 17 or later model, running iOS 27 or higher, and to replace the device every one to two years... I would not use an iPhone 16 or earlier model as a device for signing important asset transactions over the long term. Even an iPhone 17 with iOS 27 is just the minimum configuration I can currently accept. For long-term storage of significant funds, I prefer to use dedicated signing devices that feature transparent security designs, ongoing maintenance, and transaction verification directly on the device itself. The firmware, supply chain, and recovery processes of such devices still require further scrutiny. Keeping a phone offline is a precautionary measure, but factors such as hardware, patch levels, BFU/AFU status, passwords, and wallet key management determine the actual effectiveness of this precaution.'
