According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on October 14, official sources revealed that Ethereum Layer 2 network Starknet has announced the launch of a new privacy primitive based on STRK20, called 'Shadow Accounts.' This feature allows users to interact with public decentralized finance (DeFi) applications through independent pseudo-addresses under their control, with funds sourced from the user's STRK20 shielded balance. The on-chain balance, transaction records, and application positions of the shadow accounts remain publicly visible, but the STRK20 mechanism conceals the link between the shadow account and the user's main wallet. According to the official introduction, planned use cases include providing liquidity on Ekubo, establishing positions on SuperVega, transferring USDC from EVM chains into a private balance via Chance, and engaging in collateralized lending on Opus. The development team stated that Starknet ecosystem applications can now integrate with this interface.
