[JPMorgan Issues $7 Billion in Bonds, Kicking Off Wall Street's Post-Earnings Financing Wave]
JPMorgan announced the issuance of $7 billion in investment-grade bonds, marking the beginning of a financing wave for major Wall Street banks following the release of third-quarter earnings.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the issuance is divided into three tranches, with bond maturities of 4 years and 11 years, both callable one year before maturity. The source also stated that the yield on the longest-maturity tranche will be 0.9 percentage points higher than U.S. Treasury yields, narrowing by approximately 25 basis points from the initial price guidance.
Another source revealed that JPMorgan was initially seeking to raise at least $5 billion. According to Barclays' forecast, Wall Street's six largest banks are expected to raise approximately $41 billion this quarter through the issuance of high-grade bonds, which is 30% higher than the average level for the same period since 2015.
