[Vortexa: U.S. Blockade Reduces Iran's Crude Oil Exports to Zero, No Recovery in October] BlockBeats News, October 14, according to a report by energy intelligence platform Vortexa, the U.S. maritime blockade has caused Iran's seaborne crude oil exports to drop to zero since the second week of September, with no recovery as of October 5. In early September, the 14-day average export volume was 230,000 barrels per day. Currently, Iran's offshore oil storage has decreased to 83 million barrels, of which 43 million barrels are stranded west of the Strait of Hormuz due to the U.S. blockade. Vortexa stated that the U.S. blockade has effectively blocked Iran's crude oil from leaving the Persian Gulf. Iran's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports have dropped 48% month-on-month, hitting the lowest level since at least January 2023. Meanwhile, Russia's crude oil exports in September increased by 6% month-on-month to 3.79 million barrels per day, accounting for approximately 80% of the combined high-risk crude oil exports from Iran, Russia, and Venezuela. The total exports from the three countries in September amounted to 4.73 million barrels per day, down from 6.39 million barrels per day during the same period last year. Additionally, oil export volumes from the Gulf region, excluding Iran, have recovered to over 81% of pre-war levels, mainly driven by the rebound in Saudi exports. (Jin10)
